WGBH helps digitize 60 years of broadcasting history
This archive project has been fraught with challenges, including disagreements over what formats and what content should be prioritized and, of course, funding issues. Nevertheless, it is a great step forward for public media. While at Mountain Lake, I led the effort to catalog and eventually rehabilitate over 3000 archival tape (with funding from CPB funneled through WGBH.) I hope priority is placed on recovering at risk footage sitting in back rooms of small and medium sized PBS affiliates from coast to coast.
